I love these two

We had such a wonderful time this weekend. We visited the newly re-developed park on the top of the Kangaroo point cliffs....It is a beautiful place to go at any time of the day or night. This weekend, after visiting the Home Show, Flood survivors lunch and friends we relaxed on the grass with a beautiful picnic dinner overlooking our fabulous city. There was such a beautiful atmosphere as families from all backgrounds scattered themselves accross the grassed areas with their children and friends. Charlotte loved watching all the activity and wanted to stop and play with everone she saw. She practiced walking, running, crawling and tackeling mummy!

There is nothing I love more than these precious moments we get to have all to ourselves it truly makes everything else seem so unimportant when we reflect on our lives and the things that we've achieved it is the memories that we create with the ones we love that are our true achievements not the clothes we bought or the car we drive or the amount of washing we did (or didnt do).

I hope that as life get busier as more children come along that I can always keep in perspective no only what but who matters most. These thoughts are particularly evident as I have watched with the rest of the world yet another natural disaster evolve in Japan with a 9.0 Earthquake causing a devistating Tsunami completely iniliating towns throughout Japan. It is hard to watch such a disaster and not experience feelings of dispair and helplessness. However in those feelings of helplessness there is also hope and peace to be found in Christ as we put our trust in him.
I am just so greatful for my beautiful family and the joy the bring to me ever day they truly are my world and the reason I wake up every day. I LOVE YOU xx

Broccoli Salad

Broccoli Salad for Joan...

Tina's version of Tahlia'sBroccoli Mandarin Salad(This makes ALOT! I always half the receipe

Dressing:

2 eggs
...1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 cup water

Bring all ingredients except mayonnaise to a boil while stirring until thickened (it doesn't take long, about 2 minutes)
Add moyonaise, stir well, and pour immedietly over the broccoli
Chill then add the ingredients below

4 cups chopped broccoli florets
2 cups sliced grapes
1 cup cranberries (apricots, papaya, pineapple, , or sultanas)
1 red, orange, or yellow capsicum
1 cup Feta or sharp cheese cubed
rockmelon or 1 small can of mandarines or honey dew
Cashews to taste

Optional Extra's
1/2 red onion sliced
8 slices cooked bacon

You wake up to your daughter lovingly smacking you on the face, you've slept in AGAIN.. You only work one day a week and it happens to be the only day you ever sleep in, so you dash to the shower then wash the baby..as you're in the shower your babysitter arrives ahhhhhh! So you jump out of the shower wrap towels around yourselves and let him in he takes the baby and you rapidly get yourself ready to make it to work before anyone calls to check in on you. Then the sinking thought stops you in your tracks...Where are my keys.... Your husband has gone for his early morning surf taken your car but his set of keys and left you with no key to his car... ahhhhhhh! you have only 30 mins to get to work not enough time to walk, too last minute to call in a favour from the in-laws and taking a cab is out of the question on your budget...

Then it Dawns on you... CITY CYCLE YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! It’s like a gift from heaven. Thankfully you have a helmet and your closest station is at the end of your street. You sooo 'chicly' ride through the city in your skirt and heels and arrive at work, forgetting to put makeup on, on time none the less... What a great start to the day!

Coconut Cupcake Kisses

These cupcakes are simply DIVINE... I recently borrowed this book from our local Library and it is loaded with mouth watering recipes for Cup Cakes in every variety. I will post more pics as I make my way through this little gem of a book! P.S Zane took this photo and wanted me to make sure that everyone knew how amazingly talented he is...love him x
